CNC Machining of Complex Parts

Confirm parts blank
– For complex parts, before processing need to according to the parts process design select the blank.
– Mainly refer to confirm the type of blank, manufacturing method and the blank size of after confirm machining allowance.
– If the complex parts material is steel, need depend on the technical request, deburring for complex parts, keep the parts appearance clean and beautiful.
– Complex parts blank need to select the treated steel, because the treated steel is harder, more suitable for cutting. Parts in addition to processing blank and drawing size, other processing position can be clamped in one time to complete the processing of the whole part.

Confirm complex parts locating datum
– During processing, when choice the rough benchmark, need consideration of how to ensure that there is enough allowance for each machined surface, can ensure that the surface processing size, location request is qualified.
– Therefore, general processing selection of rough benchmark is mostly the plane of the blank. According to the concave platform processing, hole processing requirements, rough benchmark will select the bottom of the base plate.

Creating complex parts process route
Based on the analysis of the parts, divided into rough processing, semifinishing, finishing and finishing cut process stages, and confirm degree of the process centralization and decentralization. Reasonably arrange processing sequence of each surfaces, to creating parts process route.

Machine tool type
Different types of complex parts need to processed on different CNC machines, so choice machine tools should be according to the design requirements of parts:
– Machining complex shape shaft parts and the mould cavity form with complex curve rotation, most choose to use CNC machine to complete.
– Processing box body, box cover, plane CAM, template, shape complex plane or the mold inner and outer cavity, most use CNC vertical boring machine, milling machine and vertical machining center.
– Processing various complex box parts, pump body, valve body, shell, etc. Can be used horizontal boring machine, milling machine and horizontal machine center. Processing variety complex corve, hook face, impeller, mould and other general use multi-axis simultaneous movement horizontal machine center.
