Frame

Bicycle frame materials are mainly divided into steel, aluminum alloy, titanium alloy, carbon fiber four kinds.

– carbon fiber frame: light weight, good shock absorption performance, it is malleable. The disadvantage is the surface hardness is not good, the price is expensive.

– Aluminum frame: lighter than steel, corrosion resistance, proper strength. The disadvantage is that there is almost no elasticity, will accumulate metal fatigue, and because of its sensitivity and lightness, high rigidity, it is easy to convey the vibration of the ground, resulting in poor riding comfort.

– Steel frame: good machining performance, high strength, road feels comfortable. Steel has good elasticity, can absorb the vibration in the process of cycling, especially suitable for long-distance use. The metal fatigue of steel is much stronger than that of aluminum, so under the same conditions of use, the life of steel will also last much longer than aluminum. The disadvantage is will rust, heavy weight.

– Titanium frame: It has the same elasticity as carbon fiber and the lightness and rigidity of aluminum alloy, and corrosion resistance, not rust, good riding feeling, can be made of light weight and strong frame. The disadvantage is material is expensive.

Tyre
Material for rubber, according to the purpose has different tread, thickness.

Pedal
It can be divided into integral pedal and combined pedal. Pedal must safe and reliable, with certain anti-skid performance, can be made of rubber, plastic or metal materials. Pedal must rotating flexible.

Front Fork
Often on city roads or on smooth roads, can choose aluminum, titanium, carbon fiber frame and front fork. Often ride on mountain roads or pot-holed country roads, can choose higher strength of chromium molybdenum steel, titanium alloy frame and fork. Regularly participate in competitions, can choose lighter titanium alloy, carbon fiber frame and front fork.

Flywheel

Main materials are titanium alloy, steel, aluminum alloy and other composite materials. Flywheel for wear resistance requirements are very high, so choice material must have wear resistance. The disadvantage is heavy weight, if there is a requirement for body weight, can consider titanium alloy, aluminum alloy and other materials, but titanium alloy is more expensive.
