What Type of Parts are Suitable for CNC Turning?
CNC turning machine is common equipment for machining rotary parts and threads. When processing, operators depend on the requirements of different parts, choose to use CNC turning machine or ordinary lathe.
Rotary parts with high precision requirements.
CNC turning machine in manufacturing and on the tool setting accuracy, compensator setting accuracy and machine rigidity are much better than the ordinary lathe. Especially for generatrix linearity, roundness and high cylindricity requirements parts.
Because the turning motion of CNC turning machine is driven by high precision interpolation arithmetic and servo drive, it can well realize the machining precision and meet the precision requirements of parts.
CNC turning machine not only has good rigidity and manufacturing accuracy, but also has good cutting speed invariability, which is very helpful for reducing the surface roughness of the parts.
Rotary parts with complex surface shape.
Rotating parts with complex curves and surfaces with complex surface shape cannot be machined with ordinary lathe. But it’s easy to work on CNC turning machine. Because CNC turning machine has linear and arc interpolation function, and some non – circular curve interpolation function.
Rotary parts with lateral machining.
Some rotary parts have lateral machining, such as keyway or radial hole, or end face has distribution holes and machining shaft, plate, sets and other has turned the workpiece surface.
If this kind of part use the ordinary lathe processing, not only the working procedure is many, and the working procedure is also relatively dispersive, is not conducive to the processing.
If use of CNC turning machine processing, because of the automatic tool change system, only one clamping can complete the ordinary lathe tool multi – processing process.
Parts with special threads.
Ordinary lathe can be machined equidistant straight thread and taper thread, but can not process non-equal distance thread, end surface thread, etc. Ordinary lathe can only process a number of fixed pitch.
Using CNC turning machine, not only process any straight, tapered and end threads of equal pitch, can also be processed increased pitch, reduced pitch such variable pitch threads, and threads with smooth transition between uniform pitch and variable pitch.
Ultra – precision and ultra – low surface roughness parts.
Such as the laser printer multi-reflector, photocopier rotary drum, camera and other optical equipment of the lens and mold, only in the precision of micron scale high precision CNC turning machining can be processed.
