CNC Machined Self-Locking Nut – A Nut is Not Loosen Easily

Definition

Self-locking nut is a nut that can lock itself by friction. It can effectively prevent the self-loosing phenomenon, caused by vibration and other reasons during actual use. It has the functions of anti-loose and anti-vibration.

Working Principle

Self-locking nuts generally rely on friction. The principle is to press the embossed teeth into the preset holes of the sheet metal. Generally, the aperture of the preset holes is slightly smaller than that of the pressure riveting nut. Use the nut to connect with the locking mechanism. When nut is tightened, the locking mechanism locks the ruler body, and the ruler frame cannot move freely to achieve the purpose of locking; when the nut is loosened, the locking mechanism disengages the ruler body and the ruler frame is the ruler body moves.

Classification

According to the function classification, it can be divided into nylon ring embedded, neck-closed, and metal anti-loose device.

Application

Self-locking nuts are generally used in railway casting, rail transit, transmission systems, mining equipment, highways, military, oil extraction machinery, automotive industry, public facilities, subways, engines, construction machinery, aerospace, drilling equipment, bridges, generators, agricultural machinery , Shipbuilding industry, metallurgical equipment, trains, compressors, medical machinery, signal systems, wind power, etc.

American DISC-LOCK self-locking nut

The American DISC-LOCK self-locking nut is composed of two parts, each part has a staggered cam, since the design slope angle of internal wedge is greater than the nut angle, this combination will be tightly bitten into a whole. When there is vibration occurs, the convex parts of the DISC-LOCK anti-loosening nut are staggered to produce lifting tension, so as to achieve a perfect anti-loosening effect.
