Why We Need an Anodize Finish on Some Aluminium Parts?

Anodize is a surface finish for aluminum alloys by electrolyte and processes of relative technologies, to form an oxide film on the aluminum product. It is widely used in components of aluminum alloy.

1. Surface Protection
After anodizing or hard anodizing on aluminum parts, a Al2O3 film can be added on its surface. For example, the engine cylinders of auto can be improved their surface resistance after anodizing.

2. Electricity Insulator
The oxidation film of aluminum and aluminum alloy products after anodizing has a effective resistance, therefore, it can improve the electrical insulation of some products.

3. Decorative
The majority of aluminum and its alloy products require surface finishing, the use of sulfuric acid during anodizing can improve the transparency of the oxide film. This kind of oxide film can absorb many kinds of organic dyes and inorganic dyes, then improve the surface brightness.

4. Anti-Corrosion
After anodize, the anodizing film on the component surface has good chemical stability in the atmosphere, so the oxide film on the surface of aluminum can prevent the corrosion of aluminum products.

Anodize is widely used in different industries. Many innovative electronic devices, cosmetic components etc. are used for anodize. It is believed that anodize technology will be applied to more fields in the future.
