CNC Machined Gear Manufacturing Process
Gear processing process includes the following processes:
Gear blank processing, tooth surface machining, heat treatment and tooth surface finishing.
- The rough parts of gear are mainly forgings, bars or castings, among which forgings are most used. Normalizing the rough parts first, improve its machinability, easy to cut. Then rough machining, according to the design requirements of the gear, first process the blank into a rough shape, keep more margin.
- And then semi-finishing, skiving, hobbing, gear shaping, make the gear basic shape. Then heat treated the gear, to improve the mechanical properties of gears. According to the different requirements and different materials used, there are modulation, carburizing quenching, etc. At last, finish the gear, finishing the benchmark, finish tooth shape.
Gear processing process:
Rough turning (each surface)-conditioning heat treatment-semi-finish turning (each surface)-gear shaping-gear hobbing-chamfering-cleaning-carburizing and quenching-grinding inner hole end face (grinding inner hole) -(Grind the other end surface)- grinding teeth-cleaning-shot peening-cleaning-finished product inspection.
