What is Silicone Mold Vacuum Casting?

Definition

Vacuum cast, namely vacuum complex mold, also known as silicone mold vacuum casting, needs to be used of silicone mold. It is necessary to defoaming, mix, preheat and mold the castable under the vacuum condition, and to carry out the secondary curing and forming process for 2-3 hours in a 60℃-80℃ thermostat. The imitation products made from silicone mold vacuum casting, can be reached the strength and hardness of the raw material, it also can be equipped with colors according to the customer requirements. It is suitable for the development of the small batch of plastic samples, with complex structure, uniform wall thickness, and has certain functions.

Processes

  1. Manufacturing prototype: According to the 3D drawing provided by the customer, it produced by CNC machining, or SLA laser rapid prototyping, or 3D printing, to get the prototype.
  2. Pouring silicone mold: After the prototype is ready, make the mold frame, fixed the prototype into the frame, and pour the silicone. After 8 hours of drying, open the mold to take out the prototype, then the silicone mold is completed.
  3. Injection type: Take the liquid raw material injecting into the silicone mold, after 30-60 minutes of curing in a 60°-70° thermostat, then the mold can be removed. If necessary, the mold can be cured for 2-3 hours in a 70°-80° thermostat. Under normal circumstances, the working life of silicone mold is 15-20 times.

Feature

  1. Silicone mold vacuum casting production process has good operation performance.
  2. Silicone mold vacuum casting production process is with short production cycle, and less material waste.
  3. The silicone mold is no deformation, minimal ahrinkage, with high temperature resistance and can be used repeatedly.
  4. The silicone mold is with cheap cost.
