What will Happen to Your Parts After Heat Treatment?

Generally Heat treatment is added onto Steel Parts, through a certain heating, heat preservation and cooling process, to change its internal structure, to get the required performance.

Heat treatment usually changes five mechanical properties as below:

  • Hardness
  • Stress-strain Property
  • Tenacity
  • Ductility
  • Elasticity

When the parts need heat treatment?

  • The parts need high hardness, high strength, impact resistance, high toughness shall do heat treatment.
  • Materials that require stress relief and hardness reduction also need heat treatment.
  • Some parts surface needs high hardness, wear-resisting, and the core needs to be toughness, need surface heat treatment.

The same steel material with different heat treatment methods will get different results.

So heat treatment not only gives full play to the potential of the parts material and reduces production cost, but also works as an effective process to improve product quality and extend service life.
